Road Closed After Deadly Collision
The scale of the crash has prompted the continued closure of the affected section of the N1 as emergency and traffic teams work at the scene.
Western Cape MEC for Mobility Isaac Sileku described the incident as a devastating loss of life and said authorities were dealing with difficult conditions at the crash site.
“Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives in this tragic collision. Because of the seriousness of the crash, the road will remain closed for some time,” Sileku said.

“We are devastated by the loss of multiple lives following this serious collision on the N1. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones who have lost someone in this tragedy. No words can ease the pain of such a sudden and devastating loss, and we hold them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”
