To date, seven individuals have been apprehended in connection with the double murder. Among them, five suspects are currently in custody and have appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court. Meanwhile, two suspects, brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, fled to Eswatini and are challenging extradition efforts to bring them back to South Africa to stand trial.

Trial Postponed Until 2025

During a recent court appearance, it was revealed that the case has been delayed further, with indictments now expected to be served in February 2025. This delay has drawn criticism from those eager to see justice served, as the investigation into the killings nears the one-year mark.

EyeWitness News reported that the trial will proceed with or without the extradited brothers. Should Siyabonga and Malusi continue to resist extradition, they may face a separate trial, adding further complexity to an already lengthy legal process.
