AKA, Nellie Tembe’s Bedroom Brawl Lands The Couple At Police Station

South African musician, AKA and his bae Nellie Tembe had a heated bedroom brawl which saw the couple being escorted to the police station on Friday morning.

The bedroom brawl occured at the couple’s love nest in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

According to City Press, things got so heated that the police were called to the scene to investigate a case of violence against a woman.

The police officers who responded to the incident told the publication that the two were still fighting with both of them accusing the other of  infidelity.

Nellie is said to have declared that she was fed up of putting up with AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, as she packed her bags and prepared to leave.

A source told the publication,

“When the police got to the house, they were still fighting and her bags were packed. She told the police that she was tired of his behaviour and was leaving [him]. She told them that she was going to book herself into a hotel and stay there before going [back] home,”

Another police source went on to say that Nellie and the ‘Fela In Versace’ star were taken to the Randburg Police Station because they indicated that they wanted to lay criminal charges against each other. Nelli accused the rapper of roughing her up while AKA counter-accused Nelli of slapping him.

‌Despite, the presence of the law enforcement officers, the two continued their verbal fight at the police station. However, they ended up not laying charges against each other when their lawyers attended to them.

“They both threatened to lay charges against each other, but in the end, they didn’t. They even called their respective lawyers who became mediators before leaving with their respective clients,”

“After a long discussion and the realisation that they are not opening cases against each other, the two were told to go. But emotions were still running high. Nelly, who had left the house with all her bags, got into her lawyer’s car and left,” said the source.

However, the events do not seem to have had an adverse effect on AKA, who later on that day gave a sterling performance on the SABC1 music programme LiveAMP on Friday evening.

AKA and his management have not commented on the issue while the police said that they do not comment on cases where no charges are pressed.
