AKA’s Covid-19 Social Media Post Backfire
South African musician AKA has set social media on fire after he shared his theories on the transmission of Covid-19 on social media.
Real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, the rapper appeared to question the science behind the transmission of Covid-19 by asymptomatic people.
Writing on social media platform Twitter, the ‘Fela In Versace’ star said
“Where is the PROOF that someone can infect another person with a deadly virus Microbe without showing ANY symptoms of the virus that they are carrying? Does that even make sense? How does that even sound logical?

AKA’s rather radical theories on how Covid-19 is transmitted attracted a lot of attention and within a few hours, the post had more than 3 000 interactions.
However, it seems that a lot of people were not impressed by the rapper’s theories and cautioned him to be more careful about the information that he shares with his followers.
Others accused the rapper of being reckless and counselled him to be careful when speaking about matters in which he has no expertise.
Below are some of the reactions to AKA’s post on social media

Complete ignorance and blatant disregard of the social influence he has over society and he decides to tweet this.🤦🏾♂️.
Does he not have friends who are doctors that he could ask this question in private to? Taking us backwards!!! https://t.co/lAQcOoy8NV— Samkelo (@Samkelo94Mngadi) December 20, 2020
Based on this theory if someone does not have HIV symptoms they can’t infect anyone else?
