Al Wahad And Pitso Mosimane Part Ways By Mutual Consent

UAE Pro League club Al Wahda have parted ways with South African coach Pitso Mosimane.

In a statement released on Friday, Al Wahda confirmed that Netherlands national Arno Buitenweg will take over the reins following the departure of the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana mentor.

Mutual Agreement to Terminate Contract

In the statement, Al Wahda clarified that the decision to part ways with Pitso Mosimane was mutual. The statement reads:

“Al-Wahda terminates its contract with Pitso Mosimane by mutual consent. Al Wahda Football Club Company announces that it has reached an agreement with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane to terminate the contract by mutual consent between the two parties. The management of Al Wahda Football Club Company decided to appoint Mr. Arno Buitenweg as coach of the first team during the coming period, wishing him success.”

Pitso Mosimane Confirms Exit From Al Wahda

Pitso Mosimane’s management company also issued a statement confirming his departure from Al Wahda. The statement conveyed Mosimane’s gratitude to the club and extended best wishes for the future.

It also highlighted Mosimane’s achievements during his brief tenure at the club. The statement reads:

“MT Sports Marketing and Management can confirm that Coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team have parted ways with Al Wahda Football Club, with immediate effect. Coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team joined Al Wahda Football Club in June 2023, taking charge of the UAE Pro League squad.

The South African-led technical team guided Al Wahda Football Club to the Arab Club Champions Cup quarter-final stage in August 2023, which they played away in Saudi Arabia.

Al Wahda Football Club currently sits in 5th position on the log, 5 points behind the league leaders.

Furthermore, Al Wahda Football Club remains a contender for the ADIB Cup after eliminating Emirates F.C. 8-0 in their last cup fixture.

Coach Pitso Mosimane would like to thank the Al Wahda Football Club, the Board, players, staff, and supporters for their warm welcome and support, since joining the club earlier this year, and wish them well for the remainder of the season and future endeavours.”
