AmaZulu FC defender Tsepo Masilela says they are aiming for maximum points when they meet up with Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match to be played at Jonsson Kings Park Stadium on Wednesday.

The KwaZulu-Natal haven’t registered a win in their last four games, which all ended in draws collecting only four points in the process.

This is something that the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana defender says has to end, and they now need to start picking up maximum points because the team’s performance has been good.

“The guys are looking forward to the game. They are coming thick and fast and we need to start picking points at some point and start winning. It’s a home game, the last game was also a home game and we got one point. There are no easy games in this league, we are expecting a tough one against a very good side,” said the left-back.

“I think our performance and results…We have been having good performances, but very disappointing results. Again, it’s another PSL game where we are playing for three points. If we can continue performing and creating chances, then somehow we will start winning. It is also important that we don’t top ahead of ourselves because every game has challenges. As long as we defend well, going forward and doing the right thing by creating chances and taking them. But again, we are playing against good, strong opponents. Individually they are good and they have a good coach who was at Golden Arrows (Mandla Ncikazi) last year.”

But, Masilela and his AmaZulu teammates will be going up against a Bucs’ team that is also eager to register three points after playing to a draw in their last when they were held to a 0-0 scoreline by Baroka FC in their previous match.

The Buccaneers are in position seven with 19 points after 13 games, while Usuthu are just one point behind Bucs, 18, having played 14 games and they occupy ninth spot on the log.
