Babes Wodumo Announces The Release Of Two Upcoming Albums
It has been seven months since the tragic demise of Mampintsha, but now there is news that his final album will soon see the light of day.
Mampintsha, a member of the renowned Gqom group Big Nuz, passed away on 22 December 2022 after experiencing a stroke. Shortly before his passing, it was revealed that Babes Wodumo, the Gqom queen, was working on two music projects.
Babes Wodumo’s Upcoming Project
Taking to social media, Babes Wodumo disclosed that Mampintsha had finished recording his album just before his untimely death.
Moreover, the talented artist also unveiled her own project, featuring the late Big Nuz member. Mampintsha’s posthumous album is titled “Ngithethelele.”
Release Dates Yet to be Announced
Despite the exciting news about the albums, Babes Wodumo has not revealed the exact release dates for either project. Fans are eagerly anticipating the announcement, but they will have to wait for further updates from the artist herself.
Nondumiso Simelane Dismisses Critically Ill Rumours
A few weeks ago, a Zulu newspaper, Isolezwe, reported that Babes Wodumo was critically ill. The news sent shockwaves across her fanbase, especially since she had missed several booked gigs, including the prestigious Durban July and Cotton Fest Durban events.
However, her management promptly addressed these daring reports, clarifying the situation. They explained that Babes Wodumo was booked for international engagements, which caused her to be unable to make it back in time for the local events scheduled for the first weekend of July.
Working on Two Albums
In response to the illness rumors, Babes Wodumo’s management confirmed that she is in excellent health. Her supposed silence on social media might have led to misconceptions about her well-being.
In fact, she is currently immersed in creating not just one but two albums. The first, her own solo project, and the second, the posthumous release of Mampintsha’s final work.
“[Babes Wodumo] is in great health. Maybe her silence on social media is why they are assuming she is not well. She is currently busy with two albums, her own and Mampintsha’s,” revealed Babes’ sister and manager, Nondumiso Simelane.
