Believers in Christ Archbishop Accused Of Rape By Sister-In-Law
The complainant, who is also identified as a bishop within the Believers in Christ church organisation, officially registered the case at the Florida police department in Roodepoort.
According to procedural protocols, the investigation was subsequently transferred to the De Deur police station, as that jurisdiction covers the location where the alleged incident occurred.
The woman making the accusation is the widow of the archbishop’s deceased brother, adding a complex familial dimension to the case. Due to the sensitive nature of the allegations and ongoing legal proceedings, the identities of those involved remain protected.
Emotional Fallout Extends to Family Members
The situation has created significant emotional distress within the family structure. The son of the alleged victim, who reportedly viewed the archbishop as a paternal figure following his own father’s passing, has expressed profound anguish regarding the allegations.
In emotional statements, the son described the psychological impact of learning about the accusations, noting that the situation had profoundly affected his emotional well-being and his previous relationship with his uncle. He has publicly stated his intention to pursue justice through the legal system.
Church Leadership Remains Silent Amid Investigation
Meanwhile, other church figures connected to the case have declined public commentary. A bishop who was reportedly initially involved in documenting the complainant’s account has since been instructed by church elders to refrain from media statements regarding the matter.
