Bonko Khoza Denies Allegations of Sexual Misconduct on Film Set
Actor Bonko Khoza has strongly denied allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by fellow actress Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku, following claims linked to the filming of the production Red Ink in 2023.
The dispute centres around claims of boundary violations during the shooting of an intimate scene, allegations which Khoza says are untrue and unsupported by footage reviewed by production stakeholders.
Alleged Incident on ‘Red Ink’ Set
Nokwe-Mseleku has alleged that during the filming of a rape scene, agreed boundaries were breached in a way that made her feel violated physically, emotionally and psychologically.
“My co-star violated physical boundaries, emotional as well as psychological, too,” she said.
She claimed that despite prior discussions on consent and choreography, her co-star made physical contact beyond what had been agreed during filming.
She further alleged that suggestions were made to intensify the scene before filming a close-up, which she says she rejected because the performance had already been clearly blocked.
“There’s no thrusting. We’re just implying that it happened. I’m not comfortable with you thrusting me,” she said.
According to her account, a consent process had been conducted before filming, during which specific physical boundaries — including her pelvis — were marked as off-limits.
She also claimed that the actor later acknowledged and apologised for the incident.
Khoza Rejects Claims and Cites Review of Footage
Bonko Khoza has denied the allegations, stating that an internal review of the unedited footage did not support the claims made against him.
“In this regard, on 30 November 2023, representatives from Red Ink Productions, MNET, SWIFT, senior crew members, and both mine and Ms Nokwe-Mseleku’s respective agents viewed the unedited material.
“All parties confirmed that no thrusting, sexual misconduct, or criminal behaviour occurred. The footage simply did not support the allegation,” he said.
Khoza further stated that the matter had been escalated to police after Nokwe-Mseleku opened a criminal case in May 2024.
He said he provided a sworn statement and claimed that authorities later declined to prosecute after reviewing the available evidence.
Emotional Toll and Legal Response
The actor said the allegations had caused significant personal and professional distress, particularly affecting his family life.
“Being falsely accused of a sex crime is devastating for anyone, but as a husband and the father of a young daughter, the emotional toll has been indescribable. My family has suffered alongside me,” he said.
He added that his reputation, career, and role as a parent had been affected by what he described as an allegation that had been disproven through footage and witness accounts.

Despite the dispute, Bonko Khoza said he remains committed to maintaining safe and professional working environments in the entertainment industry.
He also indicated that he intends to pursue all available legal options in response to the allegations.
