Extradition Set After Brothers Abandon Appeal
The Ndimande brothers, who have been in custody in Eswatini since early 2024, had been fighting extradition to South Africa for nearly two years. However, in a significant development, the pair indicated on Monday, 3 November 2025, that they would abandon their extradition appeal, clearing the path for their return.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that final logistical arrangements are underway, with the handover scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
More Accused Await Trial Next Year
The brothers are part of a wider group of suspects linked to the fatal shooting. Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi (30), Lindani Zenzele Ndimande (35), Siyanda Eddie Myeza (21), Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni (36), and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande (29) are already expected to stand trial in July next year in South Africa.
The accused collectively face 24 charges, including:
- Conspiracy to commit murder
- Murder
- Attempted murder
- Unlawful possession of automatic firearms and ammunition
SAPS maintains that it has strong evidence connecting the Ndimande brothers to the orchestrated hit.
“The SAPS remains confident that it has a watertight case against the pair,” Mathe said.
SAPS Commends Eswatini Authorities
National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola expressed gratitude to the Eswatini government for its cooperation throughout the process.
“The National Commissioner takes this opportunity to thank the Eswatini authorities for their cooperation and assistance in firstly apprehending the pair and ultimately ensuring that they are brought back to the country to answer to crimes committed,” Mathe added.
Interpol Facilitating Final Handover
Interpol South Africa and Interpol Eswatini are currently overseeing the coordination of the surrender and cross-border transfer to ensure that the suspects are returned securely.
