Acting Career
Buhle gained recognition as the Breakfast Show on Africa Magic host. However, her breakthrough came in 2014 when she secured the role of Matshidiso Mofokeng on the SABC 2 soap opera, “Muvhango.” She was identified by the show’s producers during auditions for “The Lion King” and received a “Best Newcomer” nomination at the 2nd Annual Royalty Soapie Awards in 2015. After four seasons on “Muvhango,” she left the show to explore new opportunities and pursue her music career. In 2019, she joined the cast of the eTV soap opera, “Imbewu: The Seed,” and appeared in the Netflix film “Kings of Joburg.” She also expressed a desire to venture into directing and grow in the entertainment industry.
Marriage
Buhle married Thando Sonqishe in a private ceremony on May 2, 2022. Not much is known about Thando Sonqishe, but his name was associated with the 2017 OR Tambo International Airport heist, during which millions in foreign currency were stolen.
Controversial Encounter
In 2017, Buhle Samuels found herself in the midst of controversy when she publicly shamed a 44-year-old man named Paul Dominick. He had emailed her, offering to pay her R250,000 for one night of intimacy. Buhle posted a screenshot of the email on Instagram, vehemently stating that she was not for sale. She used the incident to call for an end to the objectification of women and garnered support from her followers.
