Businessman Vincent “Vinny” Ndima Gunned Down in Early Morning Ambush in Alexandra

A well-known businessman and community leader, Vincent “Vinny” Ndima, was gunned down in Alexandra. He was shot dead in the early hours of Monday morning in what police have described as a targeted attack.

Ambush on 13th Avenue

Ndima, who also served as president of the Alexandra Parliament, was travelling with his friend, Thabo Mahane, along 13th Avenue near Joe Nhlanhla Street when their vehicle came under heavy gunfire from unknown assailants.

Witnesses said the attackers fired more than 40 shots, riddling the vehicle with bullets before fleeing the scene. Ndima died instantly, while Mahane—who reportedly returned fire—was critically injured and rushed to hospital.

A Leader Dedicated to His Community

Ndima was widely respected for his efforts to uplift Alexandra residents. He was known for donating food parcels, assisting with funeral costs, and renovating homes for struggling families.

Days before his death, Ndima had expressed concern to a local journalist about the increasing shootings in the township.

Police Launch Investigation

Police have opened a murder case and confirmed that a team of detectives has been assigned to track down the suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
