South African recording artist Casper Nyovest had to duck for cover on the stage after a fight broke out and a number of shots were fired during his ‘Fill up Kuisebmond Stadium’ show in Walvis Bay on Saturday.

Nyovest, whose real name is Refiloe Maele Phoolo, was performing his first song when a brawl broke out. He stopped performing and called on security personnel to break up the fight.
A number of shots were fired into the air before the security guards could intervene and removed the aggressors.

“Wow! I did not know you guys are living so dangerously over here in Namibia,” the rapper said before continuing with his show.

He treated the crowd with renditions of ‘Gusheshe’, the first single from his debut album ‘Tsholofelo’ released in 2013, and his second single titled ‘Doc Shebeleza’, which earned him major success. He also performed a few new songs.
The Namibian supporting acts included hip-hop artist IXA, Maszanga, Jericho and the Dogg, while disc jockeys Houvas, Delly D, Xavi, Maggz and Alba kept the tables turning and the crowd moving.

BIP Mobile director Knowledge Ipinge, the organiser of the show, expressed his satisfaction with the huge turnout and said about 5 000 tickets were sold.

“Casper was overwhelmed by the turnout and will definitely visit Namibia again in the foreseeable future. He commented that he took a risk and it paid off.”
