Some of Cassper Nyovest’s Facebook fans have accused the musician of being drunk when he performed in Durban last Sunday.
This comes after his Facebook post on Monday in which he offered a R50 000 reward to anyone who had information about his lost necklace.
Nyovest, whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, posted:”Durban has been so dope… I ended jumping into the crowd for the first time in my life cause I felt the love so much. Unfortunately I lost my keys to the city chain. I would like to give a 50k reward to whoever can bring it back to me. #LifeOfARockstar #ThePeoplesChamp.”
A fan, Shaun Linda, responded that Nyovest had given his necklace to someone before he jumped into the crowd. “I was there and in front. You took both chains and gave the guy who was wearing red cap. “The first you said was heavy and gave it to him and the other with Africa map (you gave to him) before you performed the last song. Unless you had 3 chains then you lost it,” wrote Linda.
Linda’s post received more than 100 likes while other fans agreed with him. Nkazimulo Mkhupheka and Enock Lezelaine McLez both said they saw what Linda had described. Things took a different turn when others started insinuating that the hip hop star was drunk.
Kwanda Makaze Ngubane wrote that the musician should be forgiven because he was drunk after a big show. “You guys expect him to remember each and everything he did?” asked Ngubane.
The musician had not responded to the fan’s Facebook posts yesterday.
Nyovest’s tour manager, Tsepo Seone, said he would not comment on the matter.
