Cat Matlala’s Wife Sparks Social Media Storm After Arriving In Luxury Rolls-Royce Convoy
Tsakane Matlala, the wife of controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, has once again found herself at the centre of online discussion after a video showing her arriving in a white Rolls-Royce accompanied by a convoy of luxury vehicles went viral.
The footage circulated widely on social media platform X, where users questioned the display of wealth as Matlala continues to face criminal charges alongside her husband.
Luxury Display Draws Mixed Reactions
The viral clip prompted hundreds of comments, with many users arguing that the lavish arrival projected the wrong image given the couple’s ongoing legal troubles.
Some social media users suggested the display highlighted concerns about wealth accumulated through alleged corrupt activities, while others criticised what they viewed as a lack of sensitivity.
Others posted more critical remarks, with comments such as “Blood money. No shame at all” and “Thembisa Hospital money. Absolutely no shame.”
Ongoing Criminal Case
Tsakane Matlala is charged alongside her husband, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, and several co-accused in an ongoing criminal case.
The accused face 25 consolidated charges, including multiple counts of attempted murder linked to various shooting incidents, as well as allegations of fraud, money laundering and corruption.
They have pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charges.
While Cat Matlala remains in custody at Kgosi Mampuru C-Max Prison, Tsakane Matlala was granted bail of R20,000.
Separate Mention At Madlanga Commission
Apart from the criminal proceedings, Tsakane Matlala has also been mentioned during hearings before the Madlanga Commission, which is examining allegations relating to procurement irregularities and tender corruption.
The commission’s work is separate from the criminal case currently before the courts, and no findings have been made against her through that process.
