Chippa Mpengesi, Chairperson of the DSTV PSL side, Chippa United, has expressed confidence in coach Lehlonolo Seema who proved himself worthy of the job after Chippa’s recent 3 – 0 victory over Maritzburg United.

Over the years, Chippa has been well known for hiring and firing coaches willy-nilly but this time coach Seema might just serve his three-year contract. Chippa said:

“We collected 8 points after 6 games in the bubble and our game against Chiefs last week our boys were tired but Tuesday’s result seems as if the coach is on the right track. We have two fantastic strikers and it looks like we are going to be blessed this year because on Tuesday we produced a hat trick the first in the DSTV Premiership. All our players this year are going to play thanks to our coach.

Moreover, we have signed him for three years but we don’t want to keep him for long we want him to go to Europe. Moreso, I have been in the PSL for 8 years since the club was formed 10 years ago so am gaining experience as years go by. They have been good and bad times but what is important is to stay in the League. It’s not easy but we are pushing. At Chippa we represent the whole Eastern Cape. We are now an established brand though there has been drama here and there like any club, they are moments when things are not going the way you want them to go.”

However, it’s now yet to be seen whether Chippa will keep his word of seeing the coach sailing through his three-year contract.

Seema has since been tasked with finishing in the top four which is a daunting task considering teams like Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns who are also vying for the top four finish.
