Chaos at Marks Pub’s Thirsty Thursday Event
Kelebogile, a regular at Marks Pub’s Thirsty Thursday events, attended the gathering with friends. Recalling the incident, she revealed that two of her friends got into a fight with a group of women in the restroom.
The confrontation escalated, and the women turned their aggression toward her.
“I tried to stop the fight but found myself in the middle of it. Just like that, the group of ladies left my friends and attacked me. They said they wanted to make me ugly. I just saw a bottle on my head, followed by blood flowing.”
Celebrations After the Assault
According to Kelebogile, the attackers celebrated their actions after the assault.
“The women were celebrating, dancing in victory,” she said, adding that she was saved by a man who helped her get to her car.
This is not the first time Kelebogile has faced violence at a tavern.
“This happened last year. A woman beat me with a beer bottle on my head, but I don’t know why,” she said.
Trauma and the Impact on Her Career
Kelebogile expressed heartbreak over the incident, fearing for her safety.
“I’m traumatised and always scared that they might come back to attack me,” she said.
As a club hostess and promoter, she relies on her appearance for work, but the injuries have left scars on her face and body.
“I need to always look good, and now I have scars all over my face,” she lamented.
Police Investigations Underway
North West police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh confirmed that a case of assault has been opened at Hebron Police Station, but no arrests have been made yet.
