Background of the case: Defamation Allegations and Arrest Warrant

Khawula’s latest legal troubles stem from a warrant issued two months ago following his alleged defamatory claims about businessman Ze Nxumalo.

He accused Nxumalo of being unfaithful to his wife, former Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green-Nxumalo.

Musa Khawula made explosive allegations that Nxumalo was cheating on his wife while she was carrying their child. In later post, Khawula also shared that Ze and his friends were threatening him and paying him to take down his posts.

Nxumalo went through his lawyers to sue the blogger for defamation of character and cyber bullying after the posts.

Previous Legal Issues: Contempt of Court Sentence

This is not Musa Khawula’s first brush with the law. The blogger is notoriously known for being sued by famous figures. He also has an ongoing murder trial where he is accused of killing his ex-boyfriend in cold blood.

Also, in July 2024, Khawula was sentenced to 90 days in jail for contempt of court. This came after he defied a defamation ruling secured by Nozuko Mbalula, wife of ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula. The court order prohibited him from posting corruption allegations about her on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
