Shock as corpse remains intact after hearse is ravaged by mysterious fire
Paarl, South Africa
Yesterday a hearse carrying a corpse as well as the coffin mysteriously caught fire and burned to ashes, however, what has left many residents of the city in awe is the fact that the corpse remained intact as no harm came upon the corpse.
“Drakenstein municipality’s fire services responded to a fire call involving a hearse at 8.14am in Broadway Street in Paarl East.
When the firefighting vehicle and firefighters arrived on the scene they discovered that the hearse, with a body of a deceased person in a coffin inside, was on fire. They went on to extinguish the fire as speedily as possible.
The undertaker has since confirmed that the fire was intense and the coffin significantly damaged, but the body did not suffer damage,” said Drakenstein municipality spokesperson Riana Geldenhuys.
In another bizarre incident, a 16-year-old boy stole a hearse and crashed it into a minibus, causing the death of a teenager and leaving three adults fighting for their lives in hospital.
The boy, who is alleged to have been drunk, is believed to have taken the hearse, which belonged to his father’s employers.
