The Department of Correctional Services has moved swiftly to quash explosive and widely shared rumours of Nandipha Magudumana pregnancy while in prison . Speculation had run rampant across social media that Dr Nandipha Magudumana, the disgraced celebrity doctor linked to the Thabo Bester escape case, was expecting a child while in custody. The department has categorically denied these claims, labelling them as entirely baseless.
Departmental spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo was unequivocal in his dismissal of the gossip, which had been attributed to his office by some online users. He stated,
“The Department of Correctional Services wishes to place it on record that these allegations are fake news and must be treated as such. No such information was confirmed to any media institution, and we distance ourselves from these malicious claims.”
He further emphasised that the department’s official position is that Magudumana is not pregnant.

Correctional Services Deny Nandipha Magudumana Pregnancy Rumours
The unfounded reports, which spread like wildfire on platforms including Facebook and X, alleged that Magudumana was four months pregnant. Some more elaborate versions of the story falsely suggested that a senior male correctional officer had been placed on administrative leave due to his alleged involvement.
The claims appear to have originated from unverified accounts seeking to capitalise on the notoriety of the case, with no factual evidence or official communication to support them.
