The post elicited anger from South Africans, who bashed her for disrespecting her mother like that in front of strangers. She later doubled down on her Stories and diverted the issue to gossip blogs:
“just btw I love my mom with all my heart. just disappointed at something I won’t be explaining to anyone. i took my L with close friends but gossip pages? the hopelessness (sic) and misery they have about their lives to be talking about ours? smh may God bless everyone and may He give y’all a life to keep up with.”
