Explicit Posts Surface During Executive Meeting

The inappropriate videos appeared while Ramaphosa was attending a Joint National and North West Provincial Executive meeting in the North West province. According to reports, the content included a montage of revealing and explicit clips of women.

Although the videos were deleted shortly after being posted, screenshots and screen recordings quickly circulated online, fueling the controversy.

Presidency Explains What Happened

In a statement issued late Friday, the Presidency apologised for the incident and attributed the posts to a “technical glitch.” Officials said the mishap was caused by a cross-feed error during the live streaming of the executive meeting.

We regret the inconvenience and embarrassment caused to the President and the public,” the statement read.

The Presidency further assured that the account had been secured and that no further unauthorized content would appear.

Account Temporarily Inaccessible

Following the posts, Ramaphosa’s account, which has over three million followers, was briefly inaccessible as technicians worked to resolve the issue. The temporary shutdown only added to speculation, with many users questioning whether the explanation of a “technical glitch” was sufficient.

Social Media Reacts

The incident quickly dominated conversations online, with critics mocking the Presidency’s explanation and demanding more transparency. Others defended the President, arguing that technical errors are not uncommon in high-volume live streaming feeds.

Here are some of the reactions;

😆 🤣 😂no such thing as a technical glitch,
The man was busy with indulgence!

@Llekamania;

They wanted to relate to the youth and it backfired 😂

@Innocentstake;

World leaders, governments, and major institutions follow that account. This is not just a simple technical glitch, it reflects poor oversight and weak security checks at the very highest level of our country’s authority.

@2017TheBeast;

Calling it a ‘technical glitch’ is just cover. Either it was a hack or insider error but never a glitch.

@ProfSibs;

So that’s what he does on his spare time, right. Then they come here call it system glitch 😂😂.
What kind of anarchy is this? 🤣
