There was chaos in Mohlabeng area of North West province yesterday after dead bodies were discovered in an uncompleted church building.
The construction of the building whose owner could not be immediately ascertained, commenced recently and was at the foundation level before the gory discovery on Monday.
It was gathered from sources that one of the workers at the site, heard rumors about a body being buried in the foundation before it was concertized, alerted security operatives who invaded the location and hired some laborers who dug the foundation open and discovered the corpses.
Some people in the neighborhood alleged that the building is a proposed place of worship, belonging to a spiritualist who claims to be a man of God.
Mr. Thembenkosi Tshabangu, an investigating police officer in the case, confirmed the report saying that the corpses were recovered from the site following a tip-off.
“On information, three decomposing bodies were discovered and full scale investigations has commenced with a view to unmasking circumstances surrounding the incident.”
He assured residents not to panic as they have swung into action to crackdown on the man of God and his partners who have killed and buried the deceased persons.
An eye witness who lives close described the act as “wicked and inhuman.”
