Depraved Zimbabwean Man Thrown Behind Bars In SA For Raping & Pimping Out Own Daughters
A Zimbabwean national was handed a double life sentence in South Africa for raping his two daughters, impregnating one of them and selling her to a neighbour.
Gqeberha regional court magistrate Busiwe Mnyani was not swayed by the man’s guilty plea when she sentenced him to the prescribed minimum sentence for the rape of a minor.
Handing down the judgement, Mnyani said the man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughters, had pleaded guilty not because he regretted his actions but because he had no other course of action.
She said she was left with no option but to hand down two life sentences given the seriousness of the offences and the fact that the 40-year-old Zimbabwean abused his position of power and destroyed the trusting relationship between himself and his daughters.
The man admitted to two counts of rape. He also admitted that between March 2020 and March 2021, he had raped his daughters, aged 13 and 15 at the time, countless times at their home in Zwide.
The court heard that the man took advantage of his wife’s absence and raped the minors. His wife had travelled to Zimbabwe when he started raping his own daughters. She was unable to return until April 2021 due to the Covid-19 lockdowns.
The woman made arrangements to return to South Africa upon being informed of the heinous crimes her husband had committed. As if raping his daughter was not evil enough, the man sold his eldest to a neighbour after learning she had fallen pregnant.
However, upon learning she was already pregnant, the neighbour sent her back to her father from Free State. The matter was reported to law enforcement, and the daughter was taken to a hospital where she had an abortion.
A DNA test performed on the fetus confirmed that the girl’s father was also the father of her child. The man had told his daughter that it was part of their culture for him to have intercourse with her. The court heard he had also instructed his friend and neighbour to rape his daughter, telling him he was free to do whatever he wanted with her.
