Did You Know: Uzalo Boss Jacob Zuma’s Daughter Is Married To Zim Politician’s Son
Uzalo boss, Gugulethu Zuma-Ncube has been on the spotlight for sometime now.
She first started getting attention on TV in Interrogating Room on SABC1 and had a supporting role on Isidingo.
Back then when she was on Isidingo she was known as the famous daughter of then president Jacob Zuma and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
Now Gugu Zuma Ncube is an entertainment powerhouse and film mogul. She’s the woman behind Stained Glass productions, which is behind Mzansi’s most watched soapie, Uzalo.
She’s a showrunner as well as a writer rolled in one and she’s the best at what she does.
Gugu Zuma Ncube and her team’s most distinctive niche is being able to tell stories the ordinary person on the street can identify with.
Gugu Zuma once revealed in an interview with City Press that she’s really proud of what they’re done with Uzalo
“It feels awesome. I feel very proud of Uzalo. We were able to do some cool stuff. Getting to number one in our first year was pretty amazing, as was getting those sorts of TV history records that we have
Gugu Zuma-Ncube is all about female empowerment as well as she works closely with two equally talented women , one being her actual sibling Thuli Zuma as well as Mametsi Thibedi.
She admitted that she wanted to be a lawyer initially.
“Growing up I definitely wanted to be a lawyer. It was all I could think of or speak about. I did go to law school for a year, I was at the University of Cape Town in the law programme. Once I started studying, I didn’t know if it was for me, especially learning about the industry and the sector, the opportunities – it just didn’t feel like a good fit.”
She said her parents, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Jacob Zuma, were not thrilled at first but they’re proud of her now.
Gugu Zuma Ncube is married to the son of famous Zimbabwean lawyer and politician Welshman Ncube, whose name is Wesley Bongani Ncube.
The two met at the University of Capetown and tied the not in 2008. The first part of the ceremony took place at Pretoria in Dlamini-Zuma’s house while the second ceremony took place at Bulawayo in Zimbabwe.
Her hubby Wesley Bongani Ncube is also a brainiac as he is a mathematician by profession.
