DJ Chymamusique Undergoes Brain Surgery After Fatal Limpopo Car Accident
South African DJ and producer Chymamusique has revealed that he recently underwent emergency brain surgery following a fatal car accident that claimed five lives, including fellow DJ Poizen.
‘I Won’t Be Able to Talk or Take Calls’
Taking to his Instagram, Chymamusique shared that he has been on a difficult recovery journey since undergoing the procedure. He said his speech and cognitive functions have been affected and that he will be stepping away from public engagements to focus on healing.
“I couldn’t share my journey for the past week due to emergency brain surgery (craniotomy). My brain, speech, and body are still disturbed so I won’t be able to take calls or really talk in person for the next two to three weeks. See you on the other side,” he wrote.
The musician did not share further details about his current condition but assured fans that he remains positive about his recovery.

Tragic N1 Crash Claims Five Lives
The accident occurred on Saturday morning, 30 August 2025, on the N1 National Route 1 near Ysterberg Mountain, outside Polokwane in Limpopo. Two sedans collided head-on, and one of the vehicles burst into flames on impact.
Authorities confirmed that five people died in the crash, with four victims burnt beyond recognition. DJ Chymamusique was among those injured and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
DJ Poizen Among the Deceased
Among the victims was DJ Poizen (real name Caven Masetla), who was reportedly travelling with Chymamusique at the time of the crash. The music community has since expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to Poizen, known for his energetic performances and collaborations.
