DJ Sumbody’s Business Partner Addresses Claims That He Was A Gangster
DJ Sumbody’s business partner Tshepi Ranamane addressed the theories that the wheel spinner and entrepreneur was also a gangster.
Speaking at the Amapiano producer’s burial in Ga Masemola, Limpopo on Saturday, Ranamane also revealed that DJ Sumbody became paranoid after a shooting that took place outside one of his clubs in September.
DJ Sumbody and his driver were shot dead in the early hours of last Sunday morning, in Woodmead.
Addressing mourners who had gathered to witness DJ Sumbody’s burial, Tshepi Ranamane said he wished he had taken the Monate Mpolaye‘s fears seriously.

He said DJ Sumbody was scared that he would be targeted because the person who was shot and killed outside his club, was driving the same car as his. Tshepi Ranamane said:
We had to go to his house to meet, and he was scared and I was asking him, but my man what’s wrong and he says because the car that the guy was driving is similar to his – in make and colour, he thought the people were after him.
He said he dismissed it as just a passing phase and wish he hadn’t. Ranamane also took time to dismiss conspiracy theories that DJ Sumbody was killed because he was a gangster. He said the Amapiano producer was not a gangster but was just good at what he did.
Tshepi Ranamane said:
There are conspiracy theories that are suggesting that he was a gangster. I’m so sorry guys, the guy was none of those things. The only thing he was is he was very good at what he did.
A music industry insider hinted at why DJ Sumbody was shot and killed. The insider hinted that DJ Sumbody was in the drug game and was killed by competitors in the drug game.
