Notorious criminal Rassie Nkuna, currently serving life imprisonment for multiple murders, reportedly purchased premium vehicles and constructed a residential property during his time behind bars. These shocking disclosures surfaced during recent court proceedings in Pretoria.
Violent Crimes and Questionable Parole
The convicted murderer stands accused of executing Lucky Magashoa and his pregnant wife Sabeliwe in March 2022, with their young children witnessing the horrific attack. Despite being classified as a dangerous offender with a history of escaping custody, Nkuna surprisingly obtained parole in January 2024.

Inmate Buys House And Cars While In Prison
Correctional services investigators uncovered that Nkuna financed his extravagant purchases with proceeds from cash-in-transit robberies committed between 2016-2017. Official documents indicate he acquired:
- A BMW 1 Series sedan
- A Toyota Land Cruiser SUV
- A residential property in Kanyamazane, Mpumalanga
Surprisingly, Nkuna claimed the BMW served community purposes, allegedly assisting a local church with equipment transportation.
Post-Parole Murder Spree
Following his controversial release, Nkuna allegedly embarked on a violent rampage resulting in at least six fatalities. These included the high-profile case of Hillary Gardee, daughter of EFF deputy leader Godrich Gardee, though those charges were later withdrawn due to missing witnesses.
Disturbing Vehicle Connection
Investigations revealed a macabre connection between Nkuna’s BMW and his victims. Police sources confirm the vehicle previously belonged to murder victim Lucky Magashoa. The car had been in a 2021 accident, repaired, then reported stolen before Nkuna purchased it through Facebook Marketplace.

Court testimony described how Nkuna coordinated the BMW purchase from prison, directing his mechanic friend to inspect the vehicle in Vereeniging and allegedly using his girlfriend as an intermediary for transactions.
The disturbing case continues to raise serious questions about prison oversight and parole board decisions regarding dangerous criminals.
