South African actress and television personality Brenda Ngxoli made headlines over the weekend after sharing a video on Instagram that revealed a heated altercation with her mother. The video, which has since gone viral, showcases Brenda speaking candidly about the alleged abuse she claims to have endured for years.

In the recording, Brenda accuses her mother of ongoing physical and emotional abuse, stating that Brenda’s public status exacerbates her mother’s actions.

During the video, Ngxoli can be heard confronting her mother, saying,

“You’re used to doing this. Go ahead and beat me. You’ve even tried to tarnish my reputation, but I will take legal action.”

She further addresses claims made by her mother that Brenda had physically harmed her, countering with,

“You told people I beat you when, in reality, you’re the one who tried to attack me with a brick.”

The tension escalates as Brenda’s mother, seen holding a stick in the video, accuses the actress of neglecting her responsibility to cook for her. The confrontation ends with Brenda’s mother retreating to a room and closing the door.

A Cry for Help and a Mother’s Responsibility

In the video, Brenda openly expresses her frustration, saying,

“Expose yourself. Show people who you really are. I’m done keeping quiet.”

She adds that she is not obligated to provide for her mother, emphasizing that such expectations are a form of manipulation.

During the heated exchange, Brenda was carrying her young daughter on her back. She later mentioned that even her child could sense the emotional toll of the situation.

While Brenda initially sought emotional solace, she disclosed receiving unexpected financial support during this challenging time.

“I wasn’t asking for money, but God knows I needed it,” she shared. “Thank you to everyone who reminded me I’m human and deserving of care. Skye and I are doing okay.”

The generosity of South Africans extended beyond kind words. Notably, TikToker Mandisi Tshingana launched an online crowdfunding campaign for Brenda, raising over R50,000 to help the actress and her daughter through their ordeal.
