Duduzane Zuma: I am still an ANC steward

Former President, Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane Zuma, has poured cold water on some social media claims that he is about to start his own political party which he will use to contest for the 2024 Presidential elections.
This follows a series of media interviews that he has been having over the past couple of months with political issues being at the top of the agenda. Duduzane said:
“The ANC still has a lot to offer and new blood has to be injected and the youths have to be involved. Moreover, the ANC needs some face lifting. If the right time comes for me to be a leader I will take it. I am about doing the right thing and I need no permission or affirmation to do the right thing. There is indecisive leadership within the party and government which needs to be worked on. I believe I do have a lot to offer from the centre point.”
In addition, he further said that he was not involved in the current scuffles between his father and President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
“People disagree all the time be it in relationships, politics or even sport. I am not involved in that. The truth of the matter is that 10 years from now both President Ramaphosa and the former President won’t be in politics. We have to focus on the youths.
“Moreso, the playing field has to be level. Some of these parliamentarians are not in touch with what is happening on the ground with the plight of the people and we need to change that.”
Regardless, Duduzane has been dragged into a lot of corruption allegations which have even landed him at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture but he has since said all allegations labelled against him were and are baseless as he has not been involved in any dodgy dealings.
However, his father is expected to appear before the Commission later on this month over the issue of his alleged involvement in state capture after the Chairperson of the Commission, Deputy Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, issued out summons for him something which the former President has since through his lawyers stated he won’t do.
