MK Party MP Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former President Jacob Zuma was released with a warning after, appearin in the Durban Magistrate’s Court this Thursday.
She faces charges under the Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act, as well as incitement to commit violence during the July 2021 riots.
Legal Proceedings and Court Ruling
During the court session, Zuma-Sambudla was accompanied by senior MK Party officials and her twin brother Duduzane Zuma. Her legal representative, Dali Mpofu, read an affidavit into the court record.
The magistrate ultimately waived the R3,000 bail Zuma-Sambudla had been prepared to pay, instead releasing her on warning.
Cheers and Singing From Supporters
The packed courtroom erupted in cheers and singing following the decision, reflecting strong support for Zuma-Sambudla from MK Party members and attendees.
The case has now been transferred to the Durban High Court, where a hearing is scheduled for March 20.
MK party members have shown overwhelming support for the politician as the case was covered by media.

As an MP of the MK party she has faced a lot of criticism mainly because she can not speak Zulu. Many South Africans expressed their disappointment in her for not being able to speak her father’s language after decades living in South Africa.
However because of her affiliation with her father’s MK party, she has garnered a lot of support from people who oppose the ruling party.
