Following what is being called one of the biggest scandals in Equatorial Guinea—and possibly in Africa—the government has introduced strict new regulations for public officials. Any government official caught in a sex scandal will now be dismissed immediately.

This move comes after hundreds of explicit videos of Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the CEO of Equatorial Guinea’s National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF), surfaced online. Engonga, who oversees financial compliance and anti-money laundering, was seen in these videos engaging in intimate acts with various women, including some reportedly married to other prominent officials. Known locally as “Bello,” Engonga recorded these encounters with consent, and in some clips, he is even seen having relations with a woman next to the National Flag inside his office.

Government Introduces New Measures to Restore Public Trust
The government has labelled these actions as damaging to the country’s image. In a formal statement, officials emphasized that these new regulations are intended to set a standard of behaviour for public servants, ensuring a respectful and professional environment in both public and private administration across Equatorial Guinea.
