Fans are organising to raise R1 million for Big Brother Mzansi contestant Yolanda after she was disqualified from the show.

Yolanda Disqualified From Big Brother Mzansi For Statements That Threaten Gender-Based Violence

Eulanda “Yolanda” Monyai was one of the most popular contestants in the fourth instalment of Big Brother Mzansi, which started on 21 January.

However, things took an ugly turn for the 32-year-old sales consultant.

Last week, she said she wanted to “molest” a male contestant in the Big Brother house. The comment sparked an uproar on social media, as people called on MultiChoice to chuck her out of the house.

This was the second instance where she had made inappropriate comments. Previously, she allegedly told her fellow housemates that she also wanted to r_pe another contestant, Sabelo “Papa Ghost” Ncube.

She declared:

“I’m going to go rape Ghost. I’m going to force myself into his bed.”

Viewers said the show should punish Yolanda just like it did with Bravo B (Lindokuhle Nsele), who was disqualified after the first week for planning to have s_x  with other drunk contestants once they had fallen asleep.

“MultiChoice has investigated the matter regarding remarks made by a housemate on Big Brother Mzansi, which is currently airing on DStv channel 198. We do not condone any acts that threaten the safety of the housemates on the show, and we take Gender Based Violence seriously. Therefore, the housemate who made the threatening remarks (Yolanda) has been disqualified from the game.”

Fans Raise GoFundMe For The BBM Reject

Despite her disqualification, her fans rallied behind her. Some said they would no longer watch Big Brother now that she’s gone, and others said the show would become dull in her absence.

Yolanda’s supporters have since launched a GoFundMe drive to donate R1 million in funds for her following her ejection from Big Brother.
