Female Student Arrested for Pouring Boiling Water on Fellow Student During Exam Camp
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the Lebowakgomo community, a 20-year-old female student has been arrested for allegedly pouring boiling water on a fellow pupil at a secondary school in Seleteng Village, Capricorn District.

Incident Occurred During Exam Preparations
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, at about 04:30 a.m., while learners were camping at the school to prepare for their final examinations.
According to IOL, the 19-year-old male pupil was asleep inside one of the classrooms when the suspect approached him, accusing him of touching her private parts.
Despite the victim reportedly denying the allegations, the suspect allegedly left the classroom, only to return moments later with a container of boiling water, which she poured over the sleeping learner.
Victim Sustains Serious Injuries
The male learner sustained serious burn injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care. Police confirmed that the victim remains in hospital under observation.
“After the incident, the victim was immediately taken to hospital, where he remains under medical care,” said Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
Suspect Charged and Set to Appear in Court
Colonel Ledwaba further confirmed that the female learner was arrested on Friday, October 31, 2025, following “thorough investigations.”
She has since been charged with Assault with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and is expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 3, 2025.
“Police investigations are continuing,” Ledwaba added.
