Flabba’s Killer Sindisiwe Manqele Moves On After Serving Time In Prison

Sindisiwe Manqele, the woman who stabbed her boyfriend and Skwatta Kamp rapper Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi to death in 2015, is trying to move on with her life after being released from prison. She has secured a job as a legal researcher and is completing her law degree. She is also planning to share her story in a documentary.

Time served in prison and the crime

Sindisiwe Manqele and Flabba were in a relationship for about a year when they had a fatal argument at his home in Alexandra, Johannesburg, in March 2015. Manqele claimed that Flabba had assaulted her and cheated on her, and that she acted in self-defence when she stabbed him once in the chest. However, the court found her guilty of murder and sentenced her to 12 years in jail.

Manqele spent six years behind bars at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre, where she started studying law through correspondence. She was released on parole in May 2022, after the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board assessed her profile and other material. She has to comply with certain conditions until the end of her sentence.

 Sindisiwe Manqele on coping with life after prison

Manqele said that life has been tough, but she is grateful for the support of her family and friends. She said that she is working as a legal researcher for a law firm in Midrand, where she is gaining experience and keeping busy. She said that she is also a final-year law student and will graduate at the end of 2023.

Manqele said that she has been struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and that she has become less social. She said that she finds it hard to go out and be around people. She said that she is trying to build a life for herself despite the judgement and criticism from people who blame her for Flabba’s death.

What Sindisiwe Manqele plans to do next

Manqele said that she wants to tell her side of the story in a documentary that is yet to be released. She said that she wants to lay her soul bare about what happened on the night of Flabba’s death and how it affected her life. She said that she hopes that the documentary will help people understand her better and maybe even forgive her.
