Urgent Recall Issued for 2024 Ford Ranger Models Over Critical Safety Defect
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has announced a safety recall for certain 2024 Ford Ranger models following the discovery of a potentially dangerous manufacturing defect.
Faulty Front Lower Control Arm Identified
The recall comes after Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa notified the NCC of a defect in the front lower control arm (FLCA). According to the Commission, some FLCA components may have been incorrectly fitted on the left-hand side of certain Ranger units.
“If the joint separates, drivers could experience a loss of control over the affected wheel. This significantly compromises vehicle handling and increases the risk of a serious crash or injury,” the NCC warned

Vehicles Sold in SA and Neighboring Countries Affected
The affected 2024 Ford Ranger models were not only distributed across South Africa but were also exported to neighboring countries, including Namibia, Botswana, and Eswatini. The NCC emphasized that all owners should act immediately.
Ford Owners Urged to Take Action
Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to contact their nearest authorized Ford dealership without delay. Dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the faulty components free of charge to ensure driver safety.
Social Media Reactions Pour In
News of the recall has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with concerned users sharing warnings and urging fellow drivers to check their vehicles.
While no injuries have been reported thus far, the NCC and Ford South Africa are under pressure to ensure swift communication and repairs to prevent any potential incidents on the road.
Here are some of the reactions:

@Lethabo_corne;
Give us new ones.
@SikhoPhilani;
What are the chances of previous models having similar issues?🤔. That left-hand side of the control arm has had almost similar issues in previous models🤞🏿
