Siboniso Gaxa, a household name in South African football, has graduated with a law degree. The former right-back, renowned for his stellar performances on the field, is now celebrating an academic milestone after earning his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).
Educational Achievements and Career Highlights
Gaxa is no stranger to academic success. Before pursuing his law degree, he earned a Political Science degree and completed a Sports Management program at Boston Media College. Now, with an LLB to his name, Gaxa joins a distinguished group of former PSL players who have transitioned from sports to legal expertise.
Earlier in 2024, another football legend, Ntsie Maphike, also earned his LLB degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA), showcasing a growing trend of footballers excelling academically.
Balancing Professional and Academic Roles
Beyond his academic pursuits, Gaxa has been making strides in the corporate world. He currently serves as the Operations Manager and Legal Executive at Brand Arc, a highly regarded media agency specializing in marketing, events, and talent management. The company represents prominent figures, including Connie Ferguson, Thembi Seete, and Leanne Manas, among others.

Siboniso Gaxa’s football career
Gaxa’s football journey began in 2002 when he joined SuperSport United, where he spent six successful seasons. His exceptional skills earned him a move to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2008, solidifying his reputation as one of South Africa’s top right-backs.
In 2010, Gaxa ventured into European football with Belgian club Lierse SK, although his stint there lasted only two seasons. Returning to South Africa in 2012, he signed with Kaizer Chiefs, where he played a crucial role in the team’s success, including clinching two PSL titles.
After his time with Kaizer Chiefs ended in 2016, Gaxa briefly played for Bidvest Wits and Ajax Cape Town before retiring in 2018. Over his career, he amassed four PSL titles: two with Kaizer Chiefs, one with SuperSport United, and one with Bidvest Wits.
