Nolwazi Shange Under Investigation for Allegedly Stealing R700 000 While Working on Queen Modjadji

Former Scandal! actress Nolwazi Shange is facing serious allegations of stealing close to R700 000 while working as a casting director on the set of Queen Modjadji.

Sources claim that she manipulated invoices to redirect funds into her personal account.

Nolwazi Shange Accused of Embezzling R700 000 on Queen Modjadji Set

Speaking to the Daily Sun, one source who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that Nolwazi was the casting manager in the set of  Queen Modjadji.

Whilst working as a casting manager she recruits agencies with extras. After they had rendered their services she asked them to send their invoices to which Nolwazi allegedly manipulated invoice details.

“Nolwazi worked on the set as a casting manager. She recruited agencies with extras, and after they had rendered their services, they were asked to send invoices. The different companies sent their invoices, but she did the most despicable thing ever,” said one source.

Nolwazi reportedly altered the amounts and bank details and sent the money to another company associated with her.

Agencies Left Unpaid

Several agencies reportedly went unpaid for their work, causing them to confront the production company, Rhythm World, demanding answers. This led to an investigation, to which they discovered that Nolwazi has been embezzling funds

People from the agencies went to Rhythm World demanding payment and claiming they were never paid. This was a surprise for the production company, so investigations were started, and they discovered what she had done.”

The agency owners, who remain unpaid, also voiced their frustration. One owner shared,

We submitted invoices in a Word document format, which was later altered. Our account details were replaced with those of an unknown company, and all our payments were redirected there. I still haven’t received my money.”

Failed Negotiations and Legal Action

In response to the accusations, Nolwazi’s legal team attempted to resolve the matter privately. Another source close to the situation stated:

Her lawyers met with Rhythm World and proposed that a criminal case not be opened, as she would repay the stolen money. However, a month later, the agreement fell apart, and Rhythm World decided to proceed with opening a fraud case against her.”

 

Police Confirm Fraud Investigation

Police spokeswoman Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed to Daily Sun that a case of fraud has been officially opened against the actress. “I would like to confirm that a case of fraud was opened, and an investigation is currently underway,” she stated.
