Xolani’s lawyer, Advocate Prince Mafu, revealed that they will closely monitor the investigation to ensure the protection of the accused’s rights. Currently out on R20,000 bail, Xolani is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, 22 February 2024, as the investigation unfolds.

The Charges and the Incident

The charges stem from an incident involving a suspected drug dealer, Robert Varrie (49). During the filming of Sizokuthola in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesday, 19 July, Varrie was declared dead. After being interrogated, he was later dropped off at the Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital in Vosloorus, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The legal proceedings surrounding Xolani Khumalo have taken a complex turn, raising questions about the events leading to Varrie’s tragic fate and the involvement of those present on the set of Sizokuthola.
