Four people died in a horrific crash that happened on N2 in the Northern coast of KZN. The car involved in the accident was destroyed beyond repair.
Details of the Tragic Accident That Claimed 4 Lives
Emergency services responded to the scene around 8:30 AM following a high-impact collision between a passenger vehicle and a heavy goods truck. Preliminary reports indicate three male victims and one female victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The people who died were already dead before the emergency response services arrived at the scene.
Transport Department Responds

KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma has requested a full briefing from the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) while extending condolences to grieving families. Department spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya confirmed the MEC’s commitment to strengthening road safety initiatives.
Safety Crackdown Continues
The tragedy occurred shortly after provincial authorities reported successful operations during a multi-agency roadblock campaign. These operations had resulted in numerous arrests for offenses including drunk driving, stolen vehicle possession, and drug-related crimes.
“MEC Duma has mandated intensified enforcement of our Alufakwa and Zero Tolerance safety programs,” Sibiya stated. “We will maintain heightened RTI visibility and extend our road safety campaigns through year-end and beyond to prevent further loss of life.”
