Fresh Details Emerge About Jayden Adams’ Final Hours Before Tragic Death
New details have emerged about the final hours of late Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams, as police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
The 25-year-old footballer, who represented South Africa at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, was found dead at a property in Schotsche Kloof, Cape Town, on July 11. Authorities have since opened an inquest, with the official cause of death yet to be confirmed.

Media reports describe alleged sequence of events
According to reports by News24, Adams allegedly became involved in an argument with his girlfriend, Aqueelah Adendorf, after banking notifications reflecting spending during a night out reportedly appeared on her phone.
The publication claimed the pair later resolved their disagreement before Adams spent time with friends, who allegedly noticed he appeared emotionally troubled.
News24 further reported that Adams spoke to his father, Juanito, at around 8am on the morning of his death and allegedly told him he “can’t take it anymore.”
Another report by Rapport, cited by Daily Voice, alleged that Adams, Adendorf, his brother Ronaldo and several friends had gone out together the night before. It further claimed that an argument continued after the group returned to an apartment in Cape Town.
However, none of the reported claims have been confirmed by the South African Police Service, which is still conducting its investigation. Adendorf also reportedly declined to comment.
Football fraternity remembers Adams
Adams’ death has deeply affected South African football, coming only weeks after he helped Bafana Bafana reach the knockout stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During a memorial service held in Stellenbosch, national team captain Ronwen Williams paid tribute to his teammate, describing him as an exceptional footballer and friend.
“We will miss your quality, your passes, your vision and your brotherhood. We will never forget you. We will carry you in our hearts, carry you on our sleeves, carry you on this badge and forever you will remain part of us.”
The South African Football Association also honoured Adams, describing him as “a beacon of hope, a gentle soul and a young man whose brightest chapters were still being written.”
Family continues to grieve
Reports indicate that Adams had experienced several personal tragedies in recent years, including the deaths of his grandmother and former Stellenbosch FC teammate Oshwin Andries.
His father, Juanito Adams, recently spoke about the family’s heartbreak, saying they were still struggling to accept the sudden loss. He said the pain of losing his son would remain with them forever, even though time might help them cope.
