Norma Mngoma has stunned South Africans by comparing her ex-husband, former Cabinet minister Malusi Gigaba, to embattled US rapper Diddy.
In a bombshell interview on Showmax’s Untied, Mngoma painted a picture of a marriage tainted by infidelity, deception, and what she described as a degrading sex life.

Lavish Beginnings and Public Romance
Mngoma and Gigaba’s relationship began in controversy, as she revealed he pursued her while still legally married to another woman. Despite the rocky start, the pair—nicknamed the “Gigabytes”—went on to have two children and wed in 2014 in a wedding reportedly costing R6 million or more.

She initially ignored them, believing his insistence that the women were merely “jealous.”
Tlof Viral Video Leak Scandal
The couple’s troubles exploded into public view in 2020 when a video of Gigaba pleasuring himself leaked online and went viral.
In the clip, which circulated widely on social media, Gigaba could be heard saying,
“Imagine this in your mouth.”
Mngoma disclosed that she was blindsided by the footage and that they had been blackmailed for six months before it emerged.
“I saw it the day it was leaked, but we were blackmailed [by the woman] for six months [prior to this]. They were demanding money; they wanted a million,” she told Untied presenter Relebogile Mabotja.
She added:
“He acted like it was our video, but we’ve never done a video together, so why [lie]? He knew very well that it was a video of himself alone. So he lied until the day the video was leaked.”
Recalling her reaction to the scandal, Mngoma said:
“When I heard that it was trending on Pornhub, I laughed. I used to say to him, ‘There are so many things you lied about, one day you will be exposed.’ They finally got you.”
Diddy Comparison and Claims of Humiliation
In her candid interview, Mngoma likened Gigaba to Diddy over what she described as his preparation for extramarital encounters during business trips.
“Whenever you leave, you pack oils. You’re like Puff Daddy [Diddy] now. Why would you pack like that? It means whenever you leave home, you are prepared for those things.”
She also accused him of storing nude photos from other women on his iPad and watching pornography while working on official state matters.
“He was so used to it,” she said.
Confrontation and the Final Straw
Mngoma recounted the moment she caught Gigaba in bed with another woman after arriving home early from a trip.
“The lady was in bed. She was trying to cover herself…I took off his glasses, I tried to beat him up.”
She further alleged that he regularly insulted her during intimate moments:
“We can be naughty, but don’t degrade me. He loves that.”
Gigaba has consistently denied claims of infidelity.
