MaMkhize’s Lavish Car Collection Set to Go Under the Hammer

A fleet of 13 luxury cars and a branded tour bus linked to flamboyant businesswoman and Royal AM Football Club owner, Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, is set to be auctioned online next week.

The move follows ongoing legal proceedings involving the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the embattled football club.

Online Auction Scheduled from 27 June to 2 July

According to Bidders Choice, the online auction will open on 27 June and close on 2 July 2025, offering the public an opportunity to place bids on MaMkhize’s high-end vehicles. The collection includes some of the most sought-after models in the world, with several still bearing the Royal AM Football Club logo.

The auction comes in the wake of SARS’s case against Royal AM, which has been placed under curatorship in an effort to recover tax debt reportedly amounting to R37 million. The assets, including the vehicles, are being liquidated as part of this recovery process.

Rare Luxury Vehicles Up for Grabs

Among the star attractions is a 2022 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach Edition 100, an ultra-rare luxury car — one of only 100 made globally. Similar models have fetched up to R5.6 million at auctions, while the standard retail price hovers around R4.45 million.

Other standout vehicles on the auction list include:

  • A 2020 Bentley Continental GTC (2019 Edition) – valued at around R4 million
  • A 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen ONYX – a limited edition SUV worth more than R2 million
  • A 2022 BMW i7 xDrive 60, one of BMW’s most advanced electric sedans, retailing at R2.8 million

Complete List of Vehicles Headed for Auction

In addition to the ultra-luxury models, several other high-end and utility vehicles are also part of the sale:

  • 2018 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Maybach Bus
  • 2012 BMW 750i
  • 2018 BMW GT 640i
  • 2016 BMW X1
  • 2012 BMW X6 Xdrive 40d
  • 2013 Toyota Hilux 2.7VVTI Double Cab
  • 2019 Toyota Hilux 2.7VVTI Single Cab
  • 2014 Mercedes-Benz Marcopolo G7 (Tour Bus)
  • 2009 Nissan NP300 Hardbody
  • 2016 Volkswagen Crafter

The tour bus and some other vehicles still display Royal AM branding, a stark reminder of Mkhize’s bold entry into football in 2021, when she acquired the then Bloemfontein Celtics and relocated the club to KwaZulu-Natal.

Luxury Under Curatorship

The auction is part of SARS’s broader effort to recover millions owed in unpaid taxes. The inclusion of exclusive, high-value vehicles from Mkhize’s collection underscores the scale of the financial case involving Royal AM Football Club.

Despite her silence on the matter, MaMkhize remains a polarising figure in South African celebrity and sports circles — known as much for her opulent lifestyle as for her business ventures.
