Gomora, The Queen: Who Is Copying Who?
Gomora and The Queen are some of the favourite Mzansi soapies. The two shows recently ran the same storylines and that made viewers suspect that the two shows are written by the same writers.
Gomora and The Queen have been neck and neck in viewership rating since the start of the year. In October The Queen surpassed Gomora with 1.4million views and Gomora followed with1.3million views. In November Gomora surpassed The Queen with 1.3milllion and The Queen followed with 1.2million views.
The rape storylines:
The Queen
Vuyiswa was raped by the new detective; Derrick played by Sisa Hewana who used to play Skhumbuzo on Isidingo. For weeks viewers of the show suspected him because the show ran a similar storyline years ago; It turned out Derrick was the rapist; a serial rapist.
When Vuyiswa found out, he tried to kill her then ran off to Mozambique where he was captured by Vuyiswa, Hector, and Georgina.
Gomora
Teddy was raped by his new teacher; Manzi. She tortured Teddy for months, threatened and manipulated him into keeping quiet, like on The Queen, Manzi is about to be exposed by Teddy. She will lose her teaching license after the hearing and won’t be allowed near children again.
The only difference between the rape storylines on The Queen and Gomora is that the rapists were not the same sex and Manzi won’t get jailed like Derrick.
The scam storylines:
A while ago a character by Cleo joined the cast of Gomora and scammed them of thousands of rands. On The Queen currently, a character by Solly who claims and appears to be a millionaire is about to scam the residents of Thembisa off their thousands of rands. The difference is that the scammers are not the same sex and the scams are not the same.
