Gospel Musician Dumi Mkokstad Denies Death Rumours, Assures Fans He’s Alive and Well
Gospel musician Dumi Mkokstad, known for his hit song Mbize, has denied circulating rumours about his death.
The 32-year-old artist was recently reported to have died in a horror car accident, but he has expressed his shock, reassuring fans that he is very much alive and healthy.
Rumours Spark Concern
Dumi, whose real name is Mdumiseni Nzimande, took to social media to clarify the situation after his phone was flooded with calls from concerned friends and fans.
“I just heard that I’m dead, and my phone was flooded with calls from people checking on me,” he said.
The claims of his death appear to have stemmed from fabricated videos with sad music and captions like “Rest in Peace Dumi Mkokstad.”
A History of False Claims
This is not the first time the musician has been the subject of such false rumours. Dumi explained that similar reports have circulated in the past, and he voiced frustration over the continuous spread of misinformation.
“Several times, people have falsely claimed I’m dead. They manipulate videos with sad music and captions like Rest in Peace Dumi Mkokstad,” he revealed.
A Message to Rumour Mongers
Dumi questioned the motives behind the spread of such lies, urging those responsible to stop.
“Why do people spread such lies? I ask those doing this to stop,” he said.
The artist emphasized that he is in good health and fully focused on his upcoming live recording at Carnival City in Gauteng on May 3, 2025.
