Grade 10 Student Gunned Down While Walking Home From School
A Grade 10 pupil from Mfuleni Technical Academy was shot and killed while walking home from school on Wednesday afternoon.
The 17-year-old student was found dead on Inkonjane Street Extension 3 in Mfuleni township, soon after classes ended.
The teen was reportedly targeted shortly after school had let out, in broad daylight, in full view of passersby.

“Multiple Gunshot Wounds to Head and Chest” – Police
According to police spokesperson Captain F.C. Van Wyk, local law enforcement responded swiftly to reports of the shooting.
“Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of a 17-year-old male lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest. The victim was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is part of the police investigation,” Van Wyk confirmed.

The brutal killing has sparked fear and outrage in Mfuleni, with many residents describing the incident as senseless and devastating.

Police Call for Public Assistance
According to VocFM, Authorities have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the perpetrator(s) responsible for the teenager’s death.
“Anyone with information about this tragic incident is urged to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS App,” Van Wyk added. “All information will be treated as highly confidential.”
As investigations continue, the nation mourns another young life cut short by violence.
