Three Greyhound buses were ravaged by a fire at Jet Park Facility in Boksburg on Sunday while they were parked.
William Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), confirmed that multiple fire stations responded to the emergency call on Sunday.
“Our crews from Boksburg, Leon Ferreira, Albertina, and Primrose stations arrived to find intense flames engulfing the vehicles,” Ntladi stated.

Firefighters worked alongside the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) rescue team to extinguish the blaze. “Thanks to coordinated efforts, we prevented the fire from spreading to additional buses,” Ntladi explained. “Two unaffected vehicles were safely relocated during the operation.”
Authorities confirmed no injuries resulted from the incident, though the cause remains undetermined. “Our fire safety investigators are currently examining the scene to determine the origin of the fire,” Ntladi added.
