In a shocking revelation, former Skeem Saam actress and radio presenter Pebetsi Matlaila revealed that she is homeless.
She shared with her fans that she and her two children are currently living in a shelter after being evicted from their rental home due to financial difficulties.
The actress, who had been struggling to make ends meet, posted a heart-wrenching video on her social media, detailing the challenges she faced before reaching out for support.
Pebetsi Matlaila Reveals Her Current Situation and Emotional Toll
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Pebetsi Matlaila candidly opened up about the hardships she and her children have faced.
“Me and my children are at a shelter. A woman and children safety house. We feel safe here. Everything is provided for,” she shared, explaining how she had been unable to pay rent for several months despite her efforts.
She revealed that although her mother attempted to help, it was not enough to prevent her eviction.
Pebetsi Matlaila also described the emotional toll this situation had taken on her.
“I was losing it. Probably having a nervous breakdown. I shouldn’t have come on social media but I had to accept my situation and also drive my own narrative,” she admitted.
The reality star revealed that she had not slept for two nights and had spent the nights crying while her children slept.

Pebetsi Matlaila’s open and honest sharing of her struggles garnered an overwhelming amount of support from her followers, which led to job offers and financial donations.
“I did not just get a job to sustain my children. I got a job that will also give me a car. I didn’t expect that. I cannot believe how things are turning around for me,” she expressed with gratitude.
In addition to securing a new job, Matlaila shared that her children were receiving psychological support, which provided her with some peace of mind. She also expressed her deep appreciation for the anonymous gifts and donations she had received.
“Words cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for the love, the gifts, and the financial help offered by some of you,” she added, explaining how even the smallest donations helped her during this difficult time.
She has vowed to save what she can to contribute toward a new home for her family.
