The decapitated body of the deceased man was found in Mitchells Plain in the Western Cape on Monday night.

The victim’s head was found by a resident two streets away, placed inside a gift bag.

Police Launch Investigation into Headless Body found in Cape Town
Local law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation into the horrifying murder.
Speaking to News24, Beacon Valley community policing forum (CPF) chairperson Norman Jantjies said this is the first time his community has witnessed such a gruesome murder.
“According to my understanding, this was the first time that such an incident [has taken] place. As far as the CFP is concerned, there have never been bodies found without a head,” Jantjies said.
Norman Jantjies said that they are yet to determine if the incident was a gang-related violence.
“We cannot 100% say that the motive is gang-related; that is up to the police investigation to determine,” Jantjies
Calls for Information and Vigilance
Authorities are appealing to anyone with information related to the murder to come forward, urging residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
The brutal crime has raised concerns about safety in the area, leaving residents anxious about their well-being.
