Zandie Khumalo Speaks Out After Jub Jub’s Emotional Plea to See His Son

Singer Zandie Khumalo-Gumede has publicly addressed the ongoing dispute between her sister, Kelly Khumalo, and rapper Jub Jub regarding access to the former couple’s son, Christian.

This follows Jub Jub’s emotional Instagram video, where he expressed frustration over years of being shut out of his child’s life.

Jub Jub’s Emotional Appeal

In the video shared on November 2, the Ndikhokhele Remix rapper claimed that despite his continued efforts, he has been prevented from reconnecting with his son. He insisted that his attempts to offer emotional and financial support have been blocked.

I don’t want to go to court fighting over this.

“You know how many times I’ve tried to get hold of you to reach my son. You know how many times your sister [Zandie], [Mhlo] Gumede, and your mother have been trying to talk about this so I can have access to my son. You’re controlling my son as if he’s an AI. I’m not a deadbeat dad,” Jub Jub said.

He also revealed that even during his time in prison, gifts he sent for his son were sent back.

I’ve tried every possible way to do the right thing, even offering to pay damages and perform the necessary cultural rites, but I keep getting blocked,” he added.

Zandie Confirms Mediation Attempts

Speaking in a recent interview with Sunday World, Zandie Khumalo confirmed that the rapper had made repeated attempts to reconnect with his son — efforts she witnessed personally.

Normally, I wouldn’t comment on this, but because it concerns Christian, I feel compelled to speak up.

“I care about my nephew deeply and treat him as my child. When it comes to him, no one can tell me what to do,” she said.

She explained that both she and her mother attempted to mediate communication between Kelly and Jub Jub, but the negotiations were unsuccessful.

At one point, my mother and I were mediating discussions, but unfortunately nothing came of it.

“Molemo also wanted to come and pay damages at home. He even spoke to my husband, Gumede, who then spoke to my mother. Sadly, that too didn’t work out due to a lack of cooperation on our side,” she shared.

“Both Are Hurting, Both Are Responsible”

While careful not to escalate tensions, Zandie noted that both parents share responsibility for the ongoing conflict.

Molemo and Kelly still have unresolved issues, which are clear from their public feuds. I don’t want to get into details, but Molemo has genuinely been trying and keeps getting rejected,” she said.

She added that Christian has expressed interest in forming a connection with his father — but she has no power to act independently.

I’ve also spoken to Christian about his father; it’s clear he wants to see him, but I cannot take him to his father without his mother’s permission. Both Molemo and Kelly are at fault. They have hurt each other deeply, and they need to resolve their issues first before they can co-parent effectively,” she explained.
